Performance and SAN Storage
One of the biggest differences between typical hosting solutions and Gangus Internet Service's Virtual Servers lies in the underlying storage technology being used. Often overlooked, a server's storage subsystem can make a huge difference in overall system performance.
Whereas many hosting companies use a small number of disks in each server, all our Virtual Servers are stored centrally on high performance Network Appliance storage arrays. These arrays use dozens of Fiber Channel harddrives, and employ sophisticated failover technology to ensure your data will stay safe. By spreading out the Virtual Server data across many harddrives centrally, bursts of I/O activity can leverage being striped across multiple disk heads, minimizing "hot spots".

Our Genuine HP physical servers utilize fast Intel Xeon processors and plenty of RAM to make quick work out of even the toughest compute jobs. As Solaris Zones virtualizes at the operating system level, there is almost no overhead, and as a result all virtual servers can "burst" all CPU resources that are available on a given physical server - there are no artificial limitations in CPU consumption like other virtualization solutions can have. |

All Virtual Servers can be upgraded quickly and painlessly with additional CPU and memory resources, disk space and bandwidth allocations to scale up vertically.

Virtual Servers are sold as "unmanaged" servers. This means that it is the user's responsibility to configure, maintain, and administer the virtual server as required. That being said, we are happy to provide our users with "best effort" support whenever possible.
